Heath dispersions are extremely concentrated pigment pastes that are made to mix into any water-based material, which includes acrylics, and watercolors. Organic and Inorganic pigments such as bright blue, reds, oranges, violets and yellows can be very difficult to mix or disperse in their dry form because in the pigment manufacturing process, the pigments form into large crystallized agglomerates. The pigment dispersion is a pigment that has already been pre-dispersed in water and the crystallized agglomerates have been broken and dispersed. As a result of their extremely high concentration of pigment, they are a great value. Pigment Dispersions do not contain any binder and must be mixed into some sort of a acrylic or watercolor binder such as Heath Gum Arabic Solution or Heath Acrylic Polymer. Think of them as a very concentrated "tint" for use in any waterbased material. They can also be into any of the Heath Mediums such as the Acrylic Medium, Heavy Bodied Medium, Extending Medium etc.
